Instructional Goals

School Year 2025-2026


  1. Strengthening Core Literacy and Math Instruction
    • Implement rigorous, standards- aligned instruction using HMH Into Reading and Into Math.
    • Increase student proficiency in reading fluency, comprehension and written expression.
    • Build strong number sense, problem solving, and fluency in grade-level math content.
    • Use small-group and differentiated instruction to address academic gaps.

  1. Supporting Multilingual and Diverse Learners 
    • Provide targeted English Language Learner (ELL) supports through ENL push-in/pull-out services.
    • Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices .
    • Use language scaffolds and visuals to support comprehension across subjects.

  1. Promoting Data-Driven Instruction 
    • Regularly analyze student data from i-Ready, state exams, formative assessments, and classroom performance. 
    • Use data to guide instruction, inform interventions, and adjust groupings.
    • Hold regular grade-level data meetings to monitor student progress. 

  1. Developing Social -Emotional Learning (SEL) 
    • Incorporate morning meetings, Second Step curriculum, and restorative circles to promote community and empathy.
    • Support student behavior and emotional needs through MTSS (Multi-Tiered Dystem of Supports).
    • Provide consistent expectations and supports through PBIS ( Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support).

  1. Integrating Technology to Enhance Learning 
    • Use iPads, Chromebook, and platform like Google Classroom, iReady, and BrainPOP to support blended learning.
    • Provide digital literacy instruction and ensure responsible technology use.
    • Incorporate tech tools for student engagement, especially in project-based learning.

  1. Expanding Access to Enrichment and the Arts 
    • Ensure all students have access to music, visual arts, swimming, and dance.
    • Provide STEAM-based enrichment , robotics, and field trips that connect to classroom learning.
    • Showcase student work through school-wide exhibits and performances. 

  1. Family Engagement in Learning 
    • Provide workshops, newsletters, and curricuum nights to help families support learning at home.
    • Engage parents through the Parent Association and SLT (School Leadership Team).
    • Communicate regularly in families' home languages and ensure access to student progress reports.
